The Porsche Spiel is the award-winning newsletter of the Pacific NW Region of the Porsche Club of America (PNWR/PCA). It garnered the PCA's National Award for the Best Overall Newsletter three times: in 2013, it won the Betty Jo Turner Award with Dolores & Richard Ranhofer as co-editors; and in 2007 and 2010 winning the Paul Hienmiller Award with Barb Coplen as editor and Diane Koontz as associate editor.
The Spiel contains articles, photos, information about upcoming events, feature automotive articles, technical articles and much more. It is mailed to all regional club members in good standing and is available to view online. Prior to 2023, the Spiel was published monthly; it is now published six times a year. Current staff consists of Doug Andreassen, Editor; Bobby Kalben, Coordinator; Patricia Woods, Art Director/Designer; Ben Przekop, Advertising Manager; and the Spiel Team: Gary Barklind, Tina Chau, Sherwin Eng, Annie Elliot, Dan O'Connell and Valerie Young.
Note: Beginning Issue 4, 2023, the online Spiel will only be available as a PDF. Board Meeting minutes will no longer be included in the Spiel; they will be posted on the website at pnwr.org/boardmeetingminutes as PDFs, visible only to logged-in club members. Classified Ads will also no longer be included in the Spiel, they will be accessible in the classified ads module.
Contribute - it's YOUR Spiel!
This is your newsletter! All members are encouraged to submit photos, articles, stories, tech tips or ideas for the Spiel. For information about creating articles for the Spiel, please reference the Spiel Content Guidance. To contribute, email your submissions to SpielEditor@pnwr.org. The deadline for consideration for publication is the tenth of the month, 50 days or apx. 1.5 months preceding the intended month of publication. For example, for inclusion in the third issue (June), articles are due on or before April 10th.
