The biggest event of the year is the Porsche Parade in Spokane, WA from July 9-15. Join your PNWR friends or be sure to join us if you are a new member or first time Parade attendee for this group tour/caravan over to the big event!! This is not mandatory, of course, but what a way to arrive at Parade! Of course, you have to be registered for Parade in order to participate and you need to have made hotel reservations starting the evening of Saturday, July 8th.
Jose, owner of the XXX Rootbeer Drive-in in Issaquah has volunteered to host us for our departure even though they are not even officially open until later that day. He will provide coffee, pastries, fruit, etc FREE of charge to our members, but will accept donations, which he will donate to local charities.
We will NOT just make a mad dash down I-90 all the way to Spokane, but instead jump off in Cle Elum and take the curvy route over Blewett Pass and onto Hwy 2 north up the east side of the Columbia River and then east at Orando climbing through Corbaley and Pine Canyons to Waterville. You don't want to miss this leg of the trip! Later, there is another stretch called the Armour Draw with impressive vertical cliffs both on the west and east sides. How did these happen?? Think Ice Age--impressive! We stay on Hwy 2 through the high plains of eastern Washington over to Spokane--wide open spaces, excellent road surfaces and very little traffic.
Yes, there will be rest stops and a lunch stop along the way in Waterville, WA. Arrival in Spokane will be mid to late afternoon with time to leisurely check into your hotel and get ready for the big week ahead. Hope to see you on this tour!
Show time: 8:00 - 8:30; participant meeting 8:30; departure 9:00. Please be on time!
